TV News Review

Alisyn Camerota returned this morning from being off all last week on vacation. It was a welcome and much anticipated return.

Alisyn is the best, and often the only reason to watch ‘Fox & friends 1st’ and ‘Fox & friends’. Alisyn provides a spark of electricity to the show when she hosts, a down to earth sexiness, while also being able to bring credibility to serious topics. Camerota’s co-hosts, Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade often sacrifice any possibility of their having credibility in favor of cracking a joke, no matter the inappropriateness of the timing.

Last week while Alisyn was off her position as co-host on ‘F&F 1st’ and news anchor on ‘F&F’ was filled by Page Hopkins on Monday and Tuesday. Then on Wednesday and Thursday Patti Ann Browne filled in as news anchor while Gretchen came in early to co-host ‘Fox & friends 1st’. Page returned on Friday to be the news anchor as ‘F&F’ started early so to provide 4 hours of coverage to the memorial service of Princess Diana.

Page is a co-host of the weekend version of ‘F&F’, the job previously held by Alisyn Camerota, before her promotion to weekdays. Page has a rather strong personality and tends to be a host that people either like or dislike, with little room in between.

 
Patti Ann was delightful during her two days of filling in as news anchor. She engaged in some banter with the hosts Steve, Gretchen and Brian often sharing a laugh and showing herself to have a charming personality in addition to her professionalism and a smile that is both warm and disarming.

This blogger feels the producers missed an opportunity by not having Patti Ann co-host ‘F&F 1st’ on Wednesday and Thursday. Patti Ann has previously filled in as a host on ‘F&F1st’ and done a very good job. It was not necessary for Gretchen to come in early to fill in as a host. It would be wise for the producers of ‘Fox & friends’ to always look to Patti Ann Browne when needing a fill in and Alisyn is not available.

This blogger hopes that Alisyn is well rested and won’t be taking anytime off again soon for without Alisyn bringing her humor, charm, intelligence and beauty to F&F1st and F&F this blogger won’t be watching a minute of F&F…………………. unless Patti Ann Browne is filling in.
