Can Headline News still be called Headline News?

August 10th, 2007 · 1 Comment

There was a time not so long ago when a person could tune in to CNN Headline News anytime day or night and within 30 minutes be caught up on the major stories of the day. First there was Nancy Grace and Showbiz tonight. Tasting success (higher ratings) Headline News pressed on. Glenn Beck and repeats of Nancy Grace and Showbiz Tonight continue all through the night. We even have Larry King in the middle of the day now.

I sometimes work unusual hours. I miss being able to come home, make a cup of hot chocolate, and watch a pleasant anchor read the news to me while I relax at days end. While I have nothing against Nancy Grace, she’s really not the type to drink a cup of cocoa with. A nip of vodka seems to be more appropriate for Nancy.

In all seriousness, there’s no need to get rid of Nancy, Brooke, A. J., and Glenn. They are a nice change of pace. While I don’t really like Larry King, I can even live with that. But, would it be too much to ask to give us headline news at least every other hour overnight?

Why would they have Larry on both CNN and Headline News?

I wonder if it might be budget squeeze?

Seems overseas services may do better in this regard
