NY Post takes cheap shot at CNN’s Cooper

September 4th, 2007 · No Comments

From the NY Post’s Page Six…
Slippery Finger

September 4, 2007 — NO wonder CNN gets its clock cleaned by Fox News. Two weeks ago, Anderson Cooper shot a pretaped Hurricane Katrina special in New Orleans, but somehow the tapes got lost. According to our spy, “Anderson was on vacation in Europe last week when he got a call saying he had to fly back to the States and reshoot the entire special in New Orleans. The screw-up cost tens of thousands of dollars, and he was not happy. It was unbelievable.” A rep for CNN said, “Yes, footage was lost, but he always had plans to be in New Orleans if needed . . . It was a great show.”

The NY Post is owned by News Corp, the parent company of Fox News Channel.

It is ironic that the NY Post takes a shot at CNN and Anderson Cooper for having to return to New Orleans to retape a special on Hurricane Katrina to mark the anniversary of it’s landfall, while failing to note that Fox News did not send any anchors to New Orleans or do any specials to mark the anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.

Cooper’s return to New Orleans to retape his special shows his willingness to double his and CNN’s dedication to their continued coverage of the rebuilding and struggles of New Orleans. A dedication that Fox News failed to show even once. Anderson Cooper deserves applause not ridicule, and Fox News deserves to be embarassed.
