What possibly could a toy maker, a supermodel, a talk radio show host, a Presidential candidate, a former network anchorman, and an exercise guru all have in common? They all appeared on Tuesday’s “Your World w/Neil Cavuto” with Alexis Glick filling in.

This was Glick’s first time filling in for Cavuto. Glick is the director of business news for the Fox News Channel. The ‘Your World’ producers had a very interesting and wide ranging show for Alexis to host.

Glick started of the show with a report from Cheryl Casone on the 217.85 plunge in the Dow after a worries from Wal-Mart and Home Depot issuing lower expectations for profits.

A discussion of the Dow drop with 4 of the regulars from “Bulls & Bears followed. (Where was Brenda Buttner, the lovely redheaded host of ‘Bulls & Bears’?)

A report from Dagen McDowell (I love her southern accent) about the 9 million toy recall by toy giant Mattel.

Alexis had an  interview with Mattel CEO Robert Eckert.

Alexis had another interview, this time with Roger Simmermaker, on how to find and buy American made products.

Then Alexis had an in studio interview with former Supermodel Kathy Ireland on her reaction as a mother on the toy recall and how she deals with quality control of the goods she makes as the CEO of Kathy Ireland Worldwide.

Alexis had an interview by satellite with radio talk show host Neal Boortz discussing the news that Don Imus has settled with his former employer, CBS radio, and is preparing to resume his career.

Another satellite interview, this with GOP Presidential candidate, Gov. Mike Huckabee on Karl Rove’s leaving the White House and Rove’s possible future impact on the GOP primaries.

Glick has a pretty smile.

This was followed by an in studio interview with Former CBS anchorman Dan Rather on his upcoming special on the possible problems with touch screen voting machines. They also discussed the morale and rating problems at CBS Evening News. Finally the topic of the new book about Katie Couric that will soon be released was touched upon.

To cap off this rather eclectic lineup of guests was one of the more unusual of Cavuto’s regular guests, Richard Simmons. Simmons’ in studio interview was on his push to make exercise in schools for children to be made into federal law.

Alexis handled this crazy show quiet nicely. She was friendly, charming and prepared for all of her varying interviews. All of that plus she kept the show on time so there was time for the news update with Patti Ann Browne. (Anytime Patti Ann graces the screen the show gets an extra star in it’s review.)

While Glick had mixed reviews while she worked on the “Today Show” at NBC she certainly did well today filling in for Cavuto. (Alexis is a damn sight easier on the eyes too then Cavuto.) This blogger hopes Cavuto takes off  the rest of the week, or longer, and allows Glick and the other business ladies (Buttner, McDowell, Keenan, and Gomez) to fill in for him. It would be a sure-fire way to increase ratings.

Glick has been with Fox News for 11 months ,yet Fox’s website does not have her listed on their bios page. Someone has really dropped the ball on that!
